WHAT'S GOING ON?
Hey everybody! I hope you’re all doing well! I just completed my first semester of college at the University of Maryland (woot woot!). I have met some great people and professors. I write and photograph for our campus’ only black newspaper (if y’all wanna read, head on over to https://www.blackexplosionnews.com/ ). I was working on a project, but I am putting it on hold for a little because...ya girl is going to be featured in an artist showcase!
On January 24th, 2018, I will be exhibiting my photography at the RAW Artists Washington, D.C. show entitled ENVISION. RAW Artists is an international arts organization that caters to independent artists within the first 10 years of their creative endeavors. RAW provides artists from a multitude of backgrounds including hair and makeup, visual art, film, fashion design, music, performance, and photography, with the opportunity to display their work in a one-night showcase extravaganza. I am super excited about the opportunity to extend my network, especially in a city as big as D.C.
I am reaching out to you all because RAW showcases are crowdfunded events. Each artist is responsible for selling tickets and garnering support. Crowdfunding forces the artists to learn how to hustle, as well as reach out to their community. Once the artist has sold enough tickets, they will begin to receive some of those funds in return. Because the show has come up suddenly, the extra money I receive would go back into covering all the funds used to put my work on display.
Each ticket is $22, and my goal is to sell at least 40. Now given how supportive everyone was with my first exhibition from this past April, We Matter: Looking Inside Ourselves, I have no doubt I can reach the goal. As a donor, you have several payment options:

Here's the first video update! It's my first time making a real Youtube video (that isn't for class), so bare with me lol.
